The gaming community is abuzz with anticipation following the latest updates for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Tailored for the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 Pro console, this patch offers a major upgrade to the gaming experience.
The long-awaited patch 1.2.0 is now available, unveiling support for the PS5 Pro. Players can now enjoy a new rendering mode that utilizes PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) AI upscaling.
This enhanced graphics setting targets an impressive resolution of 1440p, upscaled to 4K through PSSR, while aiming for a smooth 60 frames per second. The developer has confirmed that both the existing Performance and Fidelity modes will remain accessible, now delivering even smoother gameplay and improved framerates compared to the initial console version.
The PS5 Pro is scheduled to be released on November 7, and pre-orders are already underway. This new console promises to be a remarkable upgrade, featuring a significantly improved GPU and CPU. It also introduces cutting-edge advancements like ray tracing and PSSR.
A select number of PS5 Pro titles have already been confirmed and will be marked with a distinct label on the PlayStation Store.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered debuted in January, providing an upgraded version of the 2020 PS4 title, optimized to fully leverage the capabilities of the PS5. In addition to being available as a standalone purchase, current owners of the PS4 version have the opportunity to upgrade for just $10 / £10 on the PS Store.
This patch also addresses several minor bugs, which include improvements in general gameplay, audio, accessibility, and localization.
