Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has received a new update that introduces two additional costumes inspired by upcoming Spider-Man projects. The update also includes visual improvements and a new energy-saving feature for supported systems.
Players can now equip the Fresh Start suit and the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls suit. The first design takes inspiration from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while the second recreates Spider-Man’s appearance from the upcoming tag-based fighting game developed by Arc System Works.
The timing of the update closely matches the release schedules of both projects. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is arriving shortly, while Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is expected to launch in early August.
The update includes several additions:
- the Fresh Start costume inspired by Spider-Man: Brand New Day;
- the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls costume;
- support for Enhanced PSSR;
- a new power-saving mode.
Enhanced PSSR is designed to improve image upscaling quality and visual stability. The feature should allow the game to maintain strong performance while producing a cleaner and more consistent image.
The new power-saving support gives players another option for reducing electricity use during gameplay. This may be useful for longer sessions, especially for users who want to balance visual performance with lower energy consumption.
The two costumes also give returning players another reason to begin a fresh playthrough. With multiple Spider-Man projects arriving close together, the update helps connect Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with the broader activity surrounding the character.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has remained one of Insomniac Games’ most successful releases. The title sold approximately 2.5 million copies within its first 24 hours in 2023 and passed five million copies shortly afterward.
Although a newer sales total has not been disclosed, the early figures already established the game as a major commercial success. The continued arrival of updates and themed costumes suggests that support for the title remains active well after its original release.
