VALORANT Patch 13.02 arrives with a small but meaningful adjustment for Phoenix and an unexpected delay for the upcoming All Random One Site: Replication mode. The update changes the cost of Phoenix’s Ultimate while expanding the Retake map pool with three additional locations.

Scheduled for release on July 28, Patch 13.02 includes only one Agent balance change, and Phoenix is the focus. His pick rate among Duelist players has grown over recent months, partly because of how frequently he can activate his Ultimate. To reduce that advantage, the required cost is being increased from six Ultimate points to seven.

The adjustment is intended to bring the frequency of Phoenix’s Ultimate closer to the level seen with other Agents. His overall balance remains in a stable position, so the change is relatively minor rather than a broader redesign of his abilities or playstyle.

The update also confirms that All Random One Site: Replication will not arrive as previously planned. The mode has been postponed without a replacement launch date. Development is still expected to continue, but players will need to wait for another announcement before learning when it will become available.

All Random One Site: Replication was first introduced as an upcoming concept in May. It combines the focused five-versus-five action of All Random One Site with the possibility of repeated Agents from Replication. The format is designed to create unpredictable rounds through changing Agent selections and lower ability costs.

Its main features are expected to include:

  • matches centered around a single site;
  • randomized Agent selections between rounds;
  • multiple players using the same Agent;
  • reduced ability prices;
  • fast and unpredictable team compositions.

Although the new mode has been delayed, Retake is receiving a more immediate content update. Split, Corrode, and Lotus are being added to its available map rotation. Their addition increases the total number of playable Retake sites to 18.

Retake first appeared in Patch 13.00 and quickly became a useful option for players preparing for standard matches. Its compact scenarios allow teams to practice site defense, coordinated entries, ability timing, and post-plant decision-making without committing to a full-length game.

With three more maps joining the pool, the mode now offers greater variety and more opportunities to practice familiar situations. It can also serve as an alternative warm-up alongside shorter formats such as Skirmish.

Patch 13.02 is therefore a relatively focused update. Phoenix players will need one additional point before activating his Ultimate, Retake gains more locations, and fans of All Random One Site: Replication will have to wait until further development details are shared.
